Banana Ice Cream with Pastry Cream Swirls, Marshmallow Swirls, and Pie Crust Pieces

I’m generally not one for news updates, but I couldn’t pass this up. This came courtesy of my friend Eric Koenrich, a personal trainer and Amateur bodybuilder based out of Sarasota, Florida. More evidence for the “everything fits” mentality.

Eric had gone the last place he should have on small business Saturday in search of Cinnamon M&Ms, he found something much, much better.  Eric will be updating with his initial review. In the mean time, has anyone else seen this?

Not bad

Let’s hope it’s better than Chunky Monkey

Update from Eric: So I dug into this with my girlfriend last night. My initial spoon full was sans mix-ins so all I got was a nice mouthful of the same banana base they use in Chunky Monkey. Not bad by any means but I wanted more! I didn’t have to wait long. Before I knew it I hit the pastry swirl, marshmallow chunks, and then my favorite – Big, chewy, salty pieces of pie crust. My girlfriend devoured most of the pint but the handful of bites I got were stuffed with mix-ins. I hope my pint is equally as bountiful

Omg, that looks amazing. Where did you spot this?

!!!!! This looks like it would be my favourite flavour of ice cream ever! Pleasseee send some over to the UK hehe :P

I nabbed this stuff in Sarasota, FL. I was surprised because FL is notorious for getting cool stuff last but I guess it was my lucky day!

It’s best that Eric gave up his search for cinnamon M&Ms. The label does not list cinnamon and whatever “natural flavor” was used, it’s not enough. OTOH, looking forward to finding this B&J flavor.

Excellent, excellent question Tony. I think you’ll find the information you’re looking for here

I think Blue Bell, a Texas brand, had something similar at one point. I’d love to try Ben & Jerry’s version, though. Also, where can I find a personal trainer that hunts for cinnamon M&Ms and notes new ice cream flavors?

I <3 banana anything pretty much. banana is the best flavored thing!!!!!! except when its super fake banana tasting—-blech!

HAHA, I was kind of tipsy at the bar when I read this. What store?

OH! Walmart! Wow, I am dense.

The cinnamon M&Ms were news to me, too! They have to just kind of taste like tiny Mentos, right?

I’m not a HUGE fan of banana, but I will be for crust chunks.

Also, in response to Anna – I’ve had Blue Bell’s banana pudding. While their choice of mix-ins is nice (Vanilla Wafers), there’s not enough of them and the flavor itself is somewhat bland. B&J’s version is superior. On the topic of pie I also have to recommend B&J’s Pumpkin Pie flavor available exclusively at Scoop Shops. If you’re a fan of pumpkin then it’s a must try.

i see this one all the time, and my stores are awful about having good products! wish i woulda known!

relating to the comments, i wish i had the desire to try any other banana flavored ice cream, but the one i make here at home is kick-ass and its just not worth it to venture away from it haha

My teenage daughter bought this and we ate it with two spoons right out of the carton, The pie crust is awesome! I dont know how they keep it flaky and not slimy , but we LOVED it!

Just found some of this stuff yesterday! Review to come!

I wish shipping ice cream were easier, I’d shoot you a few pints.
