Though the food was fantastic, I left my last visit at Spoon with a bad taste in my mouth. I was so annoyed by the dismal service that I actually contacted Chef and proprietor Brian Pekarcik to let him know that his restaurant deserved better. After some reassurance from Chef Pekarcik that such issues would be addressed, I knew I would have to visit again. Given my tendency to be an ass hold a grudge, it wasn’t until I saw Spoon rated as the #10 best new restaurant in the U.S. by the Gayot Guide that I finally made the reservation.

The food was as good as ever, and I’m happy to report there were no issues with service this time around. Our party actually had the same waiter as the previous visit, and though I was tempted to request another, I decided not to look like an asshole in front of my party. That ended up being a good call, service had improved tenfold. The whole staff did an excellent job, our glasses were never empty for more than a few seconds, dishes arrived at a perfect pace, and Chef Pekarcik even stepped out of the kitchen to ask how our meals were.
With the service issues fixed, and given the quality of the food, I can’t recommend Spoon enough. A must visit for the Pittsburgh area.

Everything looks amazing! I've definitely had some great meals ruined by bad service. Glad to see things turned out differently this time.
